Ancient Roman city already inhabited in the Paleolithic period, Saintes has preserved many treasures of civil and religious architecture : amphitheater, triumphal arch, Roman baths… 10 minutes away from the youth hostel, the Paleosite allows you to discover the story of Pierrette, the Neanderthal woman who lived there 36,000 years ago and, through her, the art of living in prehistory.
