Prehistory, a fascinating and intriguing period… So, to find out more, our prehistory discovery class takes you to the Vézère Valley to discover, among other things, exceptional caves listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
To stay, head for the HI Cadouin youth hostel which welcomes you to its atypical establishment, housed in a Cistercian abbey dating from the 12th and 13th centuries. The perfect place to enjoy a private courtyard and remarkable common spaces.

Day 1
Arrival at HI Cadouin youth hostel.
Discovery of the establishment and installation in the rooms.
Dinner and night at the youth hostel.
Day 2
Morning: Breakfast and departure for Eyzies de Tayac the birthplace of prehistory. Guided tour of the Grand Roc cave, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Picnic on site.
Afternoon: Guided tour of the prehistoric shelters at Laugerie Basse archaeological site in the Vézère valley.
Atelier Cro-Magnon Architecte with the creation of a prehistoric shelter.
Dinner and night at the youth hostel.
Day 3
Morning: After breakfast at HI Cadouin, off to Lascaux IV, a facsimile of the famous Lascaux cave, for a guided tour of this UNESCO World Heritage masterpiece.
Picnic at Parc du Thot animal park.
Afternoon: Self-guided tour of the museum and animal park.
Take part in an educational workshop on cave art and an introduction to Cro-Magnon painting and engraving techniques.
Dinner and night at the youth hostel.
Day 4
In-house breakfast to mark the end of your stay.
